Event description

Healthy Start is a program of the City of San Antonio’s Metropolitan Health District that assists mothers who are pregnant, offering in-home case management and parenting support. Healthy Start strives to strengthen families, empower neighborhoods, and improve health and community services so that all babies have an equal chance to live and thrive. Statistics have shown that African American and Hispanic babies make up the highest portion of the infant mortality rates.

To help promote healthy birth outcomes and provide health education and resources in the community, Healthy Start will be hosting our first Community Baby Shower on the Eastside on January 12th! Healthy Start would like to invite all pregnant women to come and take part in this wonderful Community Baby Shower to help increase awareness of maternal and child wellness. Come enjoy a light lunch, baby shower games and prizes, photo booth, community vendors, resources and health screenings! Families and children welcome. The Baby Shower will be held at the new Eastside Education and Training Center located on 4551 Dietrich Rd from 12-3 pm.
