Across the United States, we are witnessing unprecedented heatwaves, droughts, extreme storms, and winter events. These events are related directly to Climate Change and promise to increase in frequency and devastation.
If a major climate disaster struck would your household be prepared? How about your neighborhood? This event will equip you with the skills and confidence needed to give your household and neighborhood its best chance to “weather” climate disasters.
During this day-long event, you will learn to:

• Assess the climate disaster preparedness of your household
• Assess the climate disaster preparedness of your neighborhood
• Create a custom disaster preparedness plan for your personal household
• Create a custom disaster preparedness for (and with) your neighborhood
• How to prevent and treat common climate-related disaster injuries
• Fire-building and safety skills
• Water filtration and sanitation techniques
• How to use what is in your kitchen pantry and spice cabinet to treat illness and injury at home during a climate-related disaster
• A healthy lunch will be provided and you will take home disaster preparedness worksheets, a firestarter kit, and a kitchen apothecary cheatsheet for illness and injury.
