After an overview of Asian activist leaders in the US who worked in solidary with various Black power and civil rights efforts, Asian Americans & Pacific Islanders for Justice (AAPIs for Justice) will host a community dialogue on how participants perceive the current state of race relations in San Antonio and then discuss the importance of continuing the legacy of solidarity. Led by organizer Myra Dumapias, the goal of this event will be to provide a historical context for increased unity locally as both the national and international progress of race relations have involved a historic increase in voiced nity for Black Lives, diversity other civil rights matters. “To make history one must also see the history of social change we can choose to inherit,” says Dumapias.
