My Arab Fall is a multi-media theatrical performance connecting Egypt’s Arab Spring to the plight of San Antonio women in the age of #METOO #YOTAMBIEN or #ANAKAMAN. Seen through the eyes of two women – a naive yet eager Chicana tourist and an Egyptian activist fighting to change the world she lives in – this piece is a sometimes comical, sometimes harrowing exploration of sexual harassment/assault amid the dramatic social changes taking place in our world today. My Arab Fall is written by Anna DeLuna and Doyle Avant. The cast includes Anna DeLuna and Kauthar Harrak-Sharif.
There will be a post-performance talkback with the cast and guest speaker Lilly Guindy will share her real-life experiences as an activist in Egypt.
