On Saturday, January 23, 2021, Òlàjú will host the fifth edition of its annual African Market Festival. This event showcases African arts and culture with a focus on presenting a range of both emerging and established talents from across the continent and in the Diaspora. Our theme for 2021 is “We’ve Been Here” in acknowledgment of the long history that Black people have had in all fields around the world.

Main features of the Festival include a curated marketplace with African vendors, a fashion presentation, live performances, talks, and international cuisine. Essentially, the Festival grounds is a dedicated space for celebrating Africa and Blackness in all of its forms as well as facilitating thought-provoking, cross-cultural exchanges with our audience.

In response to the COVID pandemic, we are offering both in-person and virtual formats.
