On January 21, 2015 after the Martin Luther King march, the eastside community suffered severed tragedies which led to the death of two young adults, and seven injured in a drive-by shooting. The community was heartbroken. Kisha Hazel and Adrianne House decided that there needed to be an event that would cater to the community as well to also give them something to do after the march. Ms. Hazel came up with the idea to begin a community Ole’ School vs New School Basketball Tournament. This was to help bring youth and adults together on and off the court. This year marks the 4th annual MLK Ole’ School vs New School Basketball Tournament.
