Event Details

Join us for a conversation at Northwest Vista College about the future of peace and conflict studies in San Antonio, and how you can become a professional peace practitioner. Come meet educators and activists who have aligned their career paths with their values and are working for peace and to transform conflict in places such as Northern Ireland.

The mission of the Peace and Conflict Studies program at Northwest Vista College is to examine issues of social justice and to develop skills in peace-building and conflict transformation through interdisciplinary study. Thus, Peace and Conflict coursework explores: war and peace, identity, non-violent philosophy, conflict resolution, peace building, recovery from trauma, restorative justice and social justice principals.

Northwest Vista College offers a transcript distinction for students in Peace & Conflict. Students are required to take Humanities 1302 (HUMA 1302—Introduction to Peace & Conflict) and 6 additional hours of coursework labeled “Peace & Conflict Emphasis”.
