Join us as we have an open discussion on our “Invisible Neighbors”. This event will feature a panel of professionals who work in the nonprofit sector that focuses on providing services, shelter, and housing to individuals experiencing homelessness in San Antonio. Through this presentation and discussion, we hope to decrease the fears of NIMBYism among our community members and instead educate and enlighten our community on how our homeless neighbors can be rehabilitated and reintegrated into society in a way that makes them “good neighbors”. NIMBYism is a term used to describe the opposition of residents to proposed developments in their local area. It stands for Not In My Backyard and is a common struggle that is seen as we look to expand supportive housing opportunities to different areas around San Antonio.
