Are you walking with us in the MLK March? Join Girl Scouts of Southwest Texas and celebrated painter Cristina Sosa Noriega for an open station poster creation party! Marchers of all ages can decorate their own signs, flags, and banners to showcase at the march. Noriega will visit tables and share inspiration through music, images, books and worksheets. Basic crafting materials and pizza dinner will be provided!
Cristina Sosa Noriega is a painter, marketer, writer, mother and proud native San Antonian. Although best known for her My Loteria series of 54 oil paintings re-creating the images and symbols of the classic Mexican Loteria, she started her career in advertising, meeting her husband Victor at a local agency. In 2008, The Noriegas moved to Alpine, Texas and founded the Murphy St. Raspa Co. Four years later, they returned home, and she became the Marketing Director of The DoSeum. In 2016, Cristina made the decision to pursue art full time, and the rest is history. Today she can often be found painting portraits in her home studio, with her two young daughters drawing at her side, or working on her latest mural.
