COMMUNITY ANTICIPATES DREAMWEEK 2014

(San Antonio, TX) DreamWeek returns for the second annual summit promoting an exchange of ideas on diversity, tolerance and equality advancing Dr. King’s vision: to lay the foundation of tolerance, by creating dialog across cultures and communities. The summit takes place in San Antonio and spans twelve days beginning Friday, January 10 through Tuesday, January 21, 2014.

Expanding on the success of last year’s inaugural summit and in conjunction with one of the country’s largest MLK marches, DreamWeek will bolster San Antonio’s status as a culturally diverse and growing metropolitan. DreamWeek provides an environment for a global exchange of ideas through a series of keynote speaking engagements, mixers, events and celebrations that will foster discussions centered on universal issues. The summit will revolve around the following themes: City, Health, Youth, Environment, Technology, Education, Arts, Spirit, Justice, Business, Sports and Cuisine. Each event will inspire and motivate the community to action in creating a more tolerant and enlightened society.

Last year sixty-six events were held during DreamWeek 2013 and this year promises to have greater participation. According to Shokare (Sho) Nakpodia, president of DreamVoice (the agency responsible for organizing DreamWeek) community interest has been overwhelming this year. “As the world trends toward a more integrated landscape, there is a growing need for a vehicle to promote an exchange of ideas and celebrate the common good in humanity. San Antonio is the perfect setting for DreamWeek because of its increasing reputation as the face of America’s tomorrow,” explains Sho.
