Lucy Adame-Clark, Bexar County Clerk
Lucy Adame-Clark, is the first Latina and first woman elected in history as a Bexar County Clerk. She was born and raised in San Antonio. Mrs. Adame-Clark is a mother of two beautiful children and the wife of a sheriff’s deputy.
Mrs. Adame-Clark attended Southern Careers Institute where she studied Paralegal studies. Prior to becoming Bexar County Clerk, Mrs. Adame-Clark started her career with the Sheriff’s Office in 1997. In January 2008, she was promoted to the Criminal Investigation Division section as a Latent Print Examiner/AFIS. As a latent print examiner, she worked with high profile cases throughout the county and across the state to include working directly with ATF, TX DPS, FBI, and 21 different municipalities.
Mrs. Adame-Clark also worked in the Criminal Investigation Division for five (5) years with Criminal Warrants. Throughout her tenure with the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office, Mrs. Adame-Clark continued receiving continued education, certifications, accreditations where needed, and also earned TCOLE hours to include FBI training for IAFIS. In 2009, Mrs. Adame-Clark became an active member of the International Association for Identification. She left the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office December 31, 2018 after 21 years. Mrs. Adame-Clark serves as the Bexar County Treasurer and is a member of the Bexar County Bail Bond Board. She serves as Clerks Division Director as a member of the International Association of Government Officials (iGO). She is the President Elect of the Urban Recorders Alliance (URA). She is a member of the Bexar County Investment Committee. She is the Chairwoman of the Records Management Committee. Her duties as County Clerk include maintaining the records of Commissioner’s Court, 2 Probate courts, Mental Health Court, Auxiliary Jail Court, 15 County Courts at Law and several other departments. She is in charge of recording all public records, including land records, real property and vital statistics records such as marriage licenses, cattle brands, DBA/Assumed names. She also maintains the Spanish Archive records from the 1700s representing Bexar County’s foundation. Within her first year in office, Mrs. Adame-Clark implemented the County Clerk’s Office Straight to You – Records on the Run initiative, which has received numerous awards. In 2020, she received the Alamo Area Council of Government – Government Project of the Year and the Texas Association of Counties Best Practices Award. In 2021, she received the National Association of Counties (NACo) Achievement Award and the International Association of Government Officials’ (iGO) Innovator Award. Mrs. Adame-Clark is also a recipient of the Texas Patriot Award from The Daughters of the Republic of Texas, Alamo Mission Chapter for her continued preservation efforts.Mrs. Adame-Clark is very active in her community and has served in many leadership capacities. She serves as a board member for Eagles Flight Advocacy & Outreach, formerly the President of the booster club for several years in Southside Independent School District with the AFJROTC program, former Democratic Precinct Chair and a very active leader in the community. Throughout her years of service in the community, Mrs. Adame-Clark has worked on numerous projects, with the help of many others. Mrs. Adame-Clark is committed to serving the citizens of Bexar County. She has always been and will continue to be a prominent and very involved community leader.
