Join us for a Dreamweek inspired gallery talk with Curator Regina Palm. Despite pushback from his employer, American artist Pierre Daura executed a series of portraits in the late 1940s and early 1950s of fellow employees at the college where he taught. The reason for his employer’s disapproval—the staff who Daura invited to sit for him were Black. Join Dr. Regina Palm as she delves into the history and symbolism behind Good Henry.
Regina Palm, PhD, joins us as SAMA’s Marie and Hugh Halff Curatorial Fellow for American Art. Regina was formerly curator of American art at the Morse Museum in Winter Park, Florida, and associate curator at the San Diego Museum of Art, with stints at the Kimbell Art Museum, the Amon Carter Museum of American Art in Fort Worth, and the Cincinnati Art Museum.
