Event Details

As part of a panel discussion, historians, archeologists, and church leaders will present findings about the foundations discovered during construction of the San Pedro Creek Culture Park, determined to be the foundations of San Antonio’s first AME Church dating back to 1875. The panel will also discuss the site’s National Register of Historic Places designation. Speakers will include representatives from the St. James AME Church, First Baptist Church, Raba Kistner, San Antonio River Authority, Trinity University, and the City’s Office of Historic Preservation. Attendees will also have a bird’s-eye view of the foundations from TPR’s 2nd floor which is where the panel discussion will take place.

Registration will be capped at 50.
