Join us at The Classic Theatre of San Antonio for a conversation with Season 12 directors Kelly Roush, Mark Stringham and Tim Hedgepeth. The Classic will be hosting a panel discussion with these directors discussing how plays can create connection and conversation in a community by creating a safe space to come together and talk about who we are, what is important to us, and how we envision the future of our San Antonio community. We will be using the classic plays “Anna in the Tropics” by Nilo Cruz, “Our Town” by Thornton Wilder, and Neil Simon’s “Brighton Beach Memoirs” as the basis for the conversation.

This year, the theme for The Classic Theatre's Season 12 is "The Ties That Bind: What holds us together and pulls up apart?" This aligns with DREAMWEEK's theme of "A Collective Vision for the Future" in that we are spending all season putting on shows about different families, from different cultures, and how they choose to build each other up, or tear each other down, and what that does to them as a community. This discussion event with the directors of the plays will give the audience an interactive opportunity to hear the directors of these classic plays talk about the struggles and successes they are seeing in each of the families in these three different shows. We believe it will provide a supportive venue where those attending can come together to discus what it means to be human in the 21st century and what that could look like for us as a community through the lens of sharing our stories with each other.
