In collaboration with DreamWeek, MBAW presents bass-baritone Michael Sumuel, performer in leading roles at the Houston Grand Opera, San Francisco Opera and Lyric Opera of Chicago, and HGO studio artist Zoie Reams, who won first place in the Emerging Artist category at the 2015 Classical Singer competition and took second place in the Gulf Coast Region in the 2016 Metropolitan Opera National Council auditions. They will be accompanied by pianist Elena Portnaya, an alumna of the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory and laureate of numerous international piano competitions.
