Alternatives to Arresting Mothers

  Please join Free Battered Texas Women for our free panel on Alternatives to Arresting Mothers on Friday, 1/20/23 from 7 to 8:30 p.m., an official event of Dream Week San Antonio and the Unitarian Universalist Association’s Side with Love campaign.

This hybrid panel of three superstar moms who are formerly incarcerated criminal legal system reformers and an allied mother-lawyer who is a reformer will discuss restorative justice for women as part of Dream Week 2023. Panelists include: Cynthia Simons, Coordinator, Women’s Justice Coalition, Texas Center for Justice and Equity ; Lauren Johnson, Criminal Justice Outreach Coordinator, Texas ACLU; Laquita Garcia, Statewide Right-To-Justice Coordinator, Texas Organizing Project; and Shannon FitzPatrick, retired prosecutor and member, San Marcos UU Fellowship.
