Event Details

Throughout perilous times, the church was prevalent in the black community to fight for civil rights and social justice. The church gave religious and spiritual guidance, along with information on how to galvanize, protect, and support the community. However, some pulpits are silent on today’s issues. The current church attendance is not like it was back then. Have the people left the church, or has the church left the people? In this day and age of modern technology and changes in religious beliefs and practices, the question is raised: “Is the black church still relevant?” Join this panel discussion with local leaders of black churches in San Antonio to discuss more about these topics.
