The DreamHour Speaker Series is made up of leaders within the local community, sharing their experiences and their hopes for creating a better tomorrow.

Cassandra Parker-Nowicki

Cassandra Parker – Nowicki is the Executive Director of the Carver Community Cultural Center, a multicultural, multidisciplinary performing and visual arts center in San Antonio, Texas. Prior to assuming the role of Executive Director in the summer of 2019, Cassandra served as the Cultural Center Supervisor at the Carver for 11 years.

Cassandra holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Theatre from Southwestern University (Georgetown, TX) and is currently pursuing a Masters in Arts Leadership and Cultural Management through Colorado State University’s LEAP Institute for the Arts. Cassandra has worked in arts administration for almost 25 years, including an eight year tenure at the Majestic and Empire Theatres in San Antonio, as well as three years at the France-Merrick Performing Arts Center in Baltimore, MD. Cassandra joined the Carver’s team in 2008.

Cassandra believes strongly in the power and possibilities that exist within the arts to transform and heal individuals and communities, as well as celebrate that which makes us unique and that which binds us together.

Cassandra is a graduate of the formerly named Robert E. Lee High School. She currently resides in San Antonio with her husband Michael and daughter Ava.
