The DreamHour Speaker Series (The Descendant Series) featuring individuals from the community who will share their experiences as descendants of African Americans and Indigenous peoples- who contributed to making America a global power – without recognition or compensation. Presentations will be focused on the lives of descendants of African American nation and Indigenous founders in America. Presenters will share their perspectives and experiences of the challenges, struggles, and successes involved with the legacy.

Marie Crabb

Marie Crabb, is Mescalero Apache-Irish and was born in San Antonio. She is one of the top-producing real estate agents in the city, with over 10 years of experience. She has a Bachelor’s in Criminal Justice & a Master’s Degree in Conflict Resolution, both from St. Mary’s University; where she was also the President of the Native American Students Association during her time there. As a junior in college, she helped launch a summer-long protest in front of the Witte Museum, aimed at raising awareness of the desecration and possession of Ancestors by the Witte in the 1920s. She completed 2 internships in Washington DC in the US. Department of State in the Office of Civil Rights. Although she lost both parents before the age of 21, she became a 1st generation: college student, homeowner & business owner. She is heavily involved in her Native American heritage, serving as treasurer of the Central Texas Chapter of the American Indian Movement as well as helping several Non-Profit animal rescues. She’s passionate about advocating for District 5 to become one of the most dynamic districts in the City
