The DreamHour Speaker Series is made up of leaders within the local community, sharing their experiences and their hopes for creating a better tomorrow.

Laura Burress, 13 year resident of San Antonio, is currently the Volunteer Scheduling Coordinator at the San Antonio Food Bank, Laura has an enormous appreciation for the philanthropic spirit of our city. A long time volunteer herself, Laura is also the Events & Community Relations Manager for marketing company MC500, serves as Board secretary for the non profit MindLinx (as well as Board secretary for non profit East Meadow Condominium Association), is an advocate and public speaker for blood and tissue donation as a “Life Link” for non profit South Texas Blood & Tissue Center, is a presenter for non profit Executive Book Review, is a student of HarvardX, and enthusiastically supports our city’s thriving arts, government, and social services endeavors. She’s returning for a 5th year of volunteering with DreamWeek, has been a past Organizer for TEDxSan Antonio, and has previously led hundreds of students during her time with the President’s Volunteer Service Award to create and send 4,000 handmade cards and greetings to US military bases and military hospitals all over the world. A proud mom of photographer and NYC resident Sophia, Laura’s dream is to create a Humanities major-based scholarship fund for college students in need, She’s honored to speak with you all today.
