The DreamWeek celebration begins early at Blue Star Contemporary with its popular First Friday art walk event. Each month, BSC is the focal point for a free evening of contemporary art in Southtown. From 6-9pm on First Fridays, BSC welcomes visitors to view exhibitions and experience special programming free of charge. On January 3, 2019, BSC offers visitors a final opportunity to see 5 exhibitions: ‘Teardowns’ featuring the work of Joey Fauerso, ‘Sea Islands’ featuring Margaret Craig, ‘Healthy Machines’ featuring Tsuyoshi Anzai, ‘Formal Proof’ featuring Sterling Allen and Larry Graeber; and ‘Uncharted’ featuring the work of artists in BSC’s MOSAIC Student Artist Program.
During First Friday, artist Joey Fauerso will present a special performance at 7:00pm as a part of her exhibition, ‘Teardowns,’ which continues her exploration of themes of culture, gender, family, and humor as a method of response to our socio-political climate and the destructive and reconstructive natures of humanity
