Event Details

On Thursday evening, January 19th from 5:30 to 7:30 PM please join Sho Nakpodia and Rosalyn Collier for “A Wish for a Better World” evening based on the book: Twelve Steps to a Compassionate Life by Karen Armstrong. This world-renowned theologian believes that “religion is not about believing things, but it’s about what we do in our life.” She was awarded the $100K TED prize in 2008 and used it to draw up the International Charter for Compassion in the spirit of the Golden Rule.

On June 22nd, 2017 the San Antonio city council passed a resolution (OO3OR) to become a Compassionate City, to recognize, record and celebrate actions of compassion among members of our community.

We will present constructive ways to engage our capacity for living a compassionate life in our dangerously polarized world and engage participants in the creative struggle to be attentive to opportunities of compassion for ourselves, our families, our communities and our world.

The choice is ours to find ways to leave a Legacy, and not just a Wish, for a Better World.
