Corazon Harm Reduction & Day Center is an effort to aid clients that are suffering from drug addiction and other forms of chemical dependencies. The program has built a team of peer support and recovery specialists. As Certified Peer Recovery Coaches, they take pride in their ability to assist those in need by providing guidance into the many pathways of recovery available today. The program will be completely free of charge and is participant-centered that fits the needs of those we serve through needle exchange, harm reduction education, medical care, HIV/HepC testing, case management and recovery coaching.
Since opening the team has passed out 2,382 syringe exchanges, taken 53,688 used syringes off the street, helped with 246 overdose reversals correlated with the centers naloxone distribution, guided 52 referrals to detox and
172 linkage to treatment for substance use disorders.
