Join us at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church as we celebrate the signing of The Emancipation Proclamation. Although Texas was the last Confederate state to learn about the Proclamation, the slaves were still jubilant when they learned the news. The program will focus on why these historical events are still important today through read history, song and a rousing sermon. The event is free to the public and ends with a small meal packaged and ready to go.
