Event Details

Come explore and enjoy the latest student exhibit at the UTSA Institute of Texan Cultures. New Frontiers displays applique quilt squares created by 7th and 8th grade students from the Young Women’s Leadership Academy exploring the history of African-American figures during post-Civil War reconstruction and westward expansion. Encouraged to immerse themselves in what someone else’s life might have been like, student poems about their historical figures accompany each quilt.
