CityChurch Downtown will be celebrating the grand opening of the newly renovated Cameo Theatre, which happens to be the first African American theatre in San Antonio. The Cameo was the only theatre where African Americans could come through the front door and didn’t have to go through the “colored” entrance. Well-known artists such as Fats Domino and B.B. King graced the stage of the Cameo in its early years. This grand opening will reaffirm the commitment to be a place where everyone can come through the front door. CityChurch will host four services at 8:30am, 10am, 11:30am, and 1pm.
