This presentation is about the one month uprising in 1943 by Jews in the Warsaw Ghetto. It was the single largest act of Jewish resistance during WW II. They knew their efforts were doomed, but Jewish fighters held out with few weapons in their battle against the Nazis.

Dr. Roger C. Barnes is the chair of the Department of Sociology and Criminal Justice at the University of the Incarnate Word. He teaches a course on the social history of the Holocaust and has visited numerous Holocaust sites in Poland and Germany and will soon be visiting Holocaust sites in Latvia and Lithuania.
