To celebrate Dream Week, we are honored to host Anna Vasquez, one of the “San Antonio Four.” She, along with three other LGBT Latinas, was wrongly convicted of gross child molestation and spent almost 13 years behind bars. The trial was tainted by bizarre false accusations of satanic rituals, “junk science” and homophobia. The ordeal was made into a documentary entitled Southwest of Salem: The Story of the San Antonio Four (2016), which will be shown to accompany Ms. Vasquez’s discussion. Come join us as we listen to Ms. Vasquez’s journey to freedom with the help of the Innocence Project of Texas and eventual exoneration.
