Join us for an unforgettable movie experience celebrating the rich history and contributions of Black farmers and why land access is so important. This in-person event will be held at the Little Carver Theater @Carver Community Cultural Museum in San Antonio, TX, USA on Wednesday January 24th @6pm.
Step into a world of heritage, resilience, and transformation at the exclusive screening premiere in San Antonio of “Gaining Ground: The FIght for Black Land”. This extraordinary documentary explores the rich history of Black farmers and the paramount importance of land and self-sufficiency in food production. Gaining Ground is a testament to the enduring strength of the human spirit and the importance of cultivating change from the ground up.
This documentary from John Deere and Al Roker Entertainment and directed by Emmy-nominated director Eternal Polk puts the spotlight on Land Ownership Challenges Facing Black Farmers. It addresses how landowners are reclaiming their agricultural rights and their paths to generational wealth.
Afterwards, expect an evening of enlightening discussions as we will discuss the film with the director Eternal Polk alongside local black farmers surrounding San Antonio, who will share their experiences and vision for black land ownership and sustainable future.
This event is in collaboration with the San Antonio African American Archive Museum movie series and with Sustainable G’s Inc.
